Town of Glenville Police Department
Records Request - FOIL
The Glenville Police Department complies with New York State Freedom of Information Law (FOIL), providing transparency with its legislative actions, and providing the public with access to its government records. By Common Council Ordinance, FOIL requests are accepted by the Secretary to the Chief of Police, official keeper of government records and designated Records Access Officer (RAO).
A FOIL request form is required in order to obtain a copy of the report.
The Freedom of Information Law, requires for an agency to acknowledge your request within 5 business days of receipt. We then have 20 business days to provide you with a result.
A charge of $.25 per page may occur, or if the time to collect the requested information is over two hours, you will be charged based on the following:
- Amount equal to the hourly salary of the lowest paid employee capable of preparing the record
- The actual cost of the storage device
- The actual cost of engaging an outside professional service if agency is unable to process themselves
- We will inform you of these charges prior to release if applicable.
